JOE TANN BIO - CONTINUED
As a result, TANN committed himself to the studio to work on his debut album NOTHING TO LOSE (2009), teaming up with music producer, JOE "KNOQ HARDA" WRIGHT (Eightball, MJG, and BlackStreet), and eventually forming the independent record label EVOLUTION MUSIC GROUP LLC.
"The formation of EVOLUTION MUSIC GROUP, has given me the platform to finally show the world the album that I've been waiting all my life to write and record. And KNOQ has allowed me to express myself as a writer and artist by including me in the production process. Our diverse musicianship is reflected in this album, bringing together the elements of hip-hop, jazz, blues, R&B, pop, and rock (Hip-POP Seoul). In a market filled with one-hit-wonders, we approached this project with the intent of delivering a classic album from start to finish". -JOE TANN
The JOE TANN marketing campaign starts in the club with the debut hit single NIGHT LIFE featuring hip-hop duo the CLIPSE, most notably recognized for the chart-topper, Grindin (produced by the Neptunes). This highly anticipated reggae-hip-hop club anthem is ready to hit the charts, and has already been endorsed by legendary engineer, HERB POWERS (Mariah Carrey, Bob Marley, LL Cool J). JOE TANN's co-release single, MORE THAN YOU KNOW, is an 808-driven club hip-hop ballad that's sure to get the ladies hot.
However, JOE TANN's music is not limited to the club. NOTHING TO LOSE is filled with ditties that feature TANN in his natural element, sitting behind a jazz piano, and/or strumming a guitar. For example, latin-jazz inspired, BAD BOY, showcases his love for music, mixing the elements of vocal swagger, drums, live horns, and piano; piano-driven hip-hop ballad, DROP A TEAR, dramatically showcases his lyrical heartbreak in epic fashion; and lastly, the future single release DANCE IT AWAY, demonstrates TANN's lyrical range, as he sings about love over a backdrop of piano, drums, and the current social and economic climate.
