JOE TANN BIO
The music industry is on the verge of a renaissance! As people are becoming disenchanted with fallen American false-Idols and flavor-of-the-day pop jingles, a new chapter is beginning; a chapter entitled, JOE TANN, the Story of How HIP-POP SEOUL Began: This Korean-mix native of Virginia is a one-stop-shop for talent. He is more than just a great voice; he's a writer, musician, producer, and model, and there are no other male artists on the market like TANN. His musical versatility and lyrical adeptness are clear indications of his potential longevity in the entertainment industry. His true musicianship shines, whether his edgy and gritty vocals are resonating from behind a grand piano, or over the club speakers to a sea of nightlife. As an artist, his influences include but are not limited to Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and the Neptunes.
JOE TANN is no stranger to onstage performances. Along with performing in Virginia, the Carolinas, and Philadelphia areas, JOE has opened for John Legend, The Roots, and Nick Cannon, to name a few. He also performed at the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary celebration in New York and the King of Pop's 45th birthday celebration at the Orpheum Theater in LA with Brian McKnight and the Temptations.
TANN has been exposed to a variety of different producers including Joshua Thompson (Alicia Keys, Joe, Babyface), Lamont Fleming (Chris Brown, Tim & Bob), the Matrax (YoungGunz, Jadakiss), and David "Pic" Conley of Surface (Olivia, Joe). He has also had the privilege to collaborate with R&B legend Howard Hewitt and jazz pianist, Bobby Lyle.
In 2008, JOE TANN released his debut single ONE WAY OR ANOTHER featuring JADAKISS. The single remained in the top 5 most downloaded records for three straight weeks on Digiwaxx, competing against major label releases by Chris Brown and Rick Ross. According to Digiwaxx representatives, music submitted by independent artists, rarely reaps the record pull success of ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. The DJ community responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback, demanding more JOE TANN.
